London DJs The Nextmen have a cool new video out for their soon-to-be-released single Lion’s Den, which features the vocals of Ms. Dynamite and Andy Catois and is set to burn down dancefloors. We asked the guys to give us a rundown on the music they’re listening and they started with the Jack Penate track, Todays Tonight: ‘This is an extremely difficult one to explain. I guess it’s Afro-Folk-Pop, or something horrible like that. It’s a great track with a lovely atmosphere and a welcome return from Penate. Walking through the fringes of San Francisco’s financial district on a Sunday evening, hearing the unmistakable thumping bass of a dance party was a welcome surprise.Following the music through the concrete corridors, I ended up at the ninth annual How Weird Street Faire, an ‘experiment in creating peace’ and sharing art and celebration. The festival consumed seven blocks in downtown San Francisco with crazily dressed punters dancing, drinking and hugging to the tune of DJ beats. Unexpected, and a great surprise.

The Liars were in the Netherlands recently and we came across some kids doing this dance. It’s really bizarre to watch. I was ridiculed for not having heard of it. I love how it references the popular Japanese video game, Dance Dance Revolution.
