Ryan Riss, aka Craptical, is firmly rooted in the grotesque school of pop art, drawing heavily from horror comics, drug culture imagery, and the work of Ed ‘Big Daddy’ Roth. Beneath the irreverence and sophomoric imagery, however, is contrastingly well-controlled line work and a mature sense of design and composition.
FOR CREATIVE INSPIRATION
In partnership with our friends at Optus, we present the third in a three part Lost At E Minor video series that puts the spotlight on some young, handpicked Australian creatives, doing inspirational things within their chosen fields. Episode Three features 16-year old Melbourne-based producer, Gab Strum (aka Japanese Wallpaper), who has racked up thousands of plays over the past year or so via a number of well-blogged remixes ranging from City Calm Down and The Townhouses to bootlegs of The xx and Bon Iver.
