These are the coolest thing ever! French label, Waiting for the Sun, makes a range of ubersmart shades from wood. There are heaps of styles to choose from. Very Grace Kelly and French Riviera. I can just imagine wearing them with a scarf around my head and the top down on my convertible as I wind around the streets of Monaco.

Canned fish is a staple for me on the road. High in omega-3s, high in protein, and generally low on cost, sardines, mackerel, and wild sockeye salmon out of a tin help keep me healthy when I don’t have access to a kitchen. In the States, I prefer the Bar Harbor brand of canned seafood. If I ever tour Sweden, I’ll have to try Garant based on their label design alone.

How many times can we play the same song in different settings? Hmmm, I don’t know. But it is a hell of a song, from a hell of a band, as that uniquely English oddity, Jules Holland would no doubt concur.

Fans of Australian buzzsaw rock trio, The Vines, might like to check out our sister site, My Secret Playlist, where drummer Hamish Rosser has written about eight songs he’s digging right now. There’s some interesting choices in there including The Strokes, James Brown, and, gulp, Joan Jett.

Bay Area duo The Human Quena Orchestra sounds like a skyscraper falling in slow motion with their scraping, crashing, screeching drone pounded out of guitars, samplers, and circuit-bent electronics. Listen to their track Progress below.
