If you look up at the sky on a dark, starry night, sooner or later you’ll begin to realize the magnitude of the universe and your minuscule place within it. You’ll imagine yourself as a tiny, tiny speck in an endless space of planets and stars. That you’re standing on a floating piece of rock among possibly millions of other floating pieces of rocks. Now look at this photo recently taken from the Hubble Telescope.

This is a first. We humans created a space-traveling vessel that just orbited Mercury and was kind enough to take a photo to send back to its creators. The earth and moon are the obvious bright spots in the lower left quadrant.
