Created through a passion for film, art and illustration, The Exiled Elite provide pencil drawn alternative movie posters of cult and classic films relevant in pop culture. The design and composition are influenced by the films’ characters and themes, and draw inspiration from the movies’ color palette and imagery.

As a big fan of Chuck Palahniuk’s writing and his Twitter feed, I stumbled across Oliver Shilling’s stylized movie posters. He’s a graphic designer with great skill with text and fonts and uses washed out colors that give a mood unto itself. A bit somber, but then again, the posters he’s designed, such as Clockwork Orange, Fight Club, and Shutter Island, all have that feel in common. Incidentally, all the posters he has redesigned happen to be on my favorite movies list. I’m a big fan.

I’m a bit obsessed with all things minimalistic, and I also happen to love these two movies, so I couldn’t resist these poster designs. Daniel Enders is a designer and illustrator based in Indiana, and his minimalistic movie posters are probably my favorite of any I’ve seen. I’m a firm believer that Less is More, although I do wish he had made more of these posters.
