I absolutely love the spreads that typographer Sam Winston created for New York Times magazine. He contrasts very griddy layouts with organic ones and uses red type to highlight important information. His experimental, deconstructive use of type is remarkable, and his layouts feel fluid and alive. His work is refreshing and inspiring.
Rupa Design created this origami cover design out of paper for the upcoming issue 1/12 of novum magazine, focusing on the fortune-bringing crane to wish all readers a good start into 2012 and A HAPPY BALANCE.
Jop Van Bennekom is my art direction super-hero. His ongoing collaboration with Turner prize-winning photographer Wolfgang Tillmans and advertising partnership with faltering mega-brand American Apparel are perfect enough to make any creative nought to jealous in 4.5 seconds.
