Will you be visiting Stockholm in the near future? If so, be amongst the first to pick up a pair of Noko Jeans, manufactured in the anti-social country, North Korea, and marketed in Sweden. 1100 pairs of these novelty jeans were made for girls and boys to wear around the world — except, of course, in North Korea, where the State dress code strictly forbids them being worn. Oh, it’s a crazy world we live in.

Remember hyper-colour t-shirts and Wham’s day-glo video for Wake Me Up Before You Go Go? Yeah? Well these new jeans from Diesel are in the same ballpark. A special fluorescent coating, devised to be glaring under UV lights, is layered on the denim and cotton, so that on denim, hidden graphics are revealed under black lights. I don’t get Flight of The Concords. I just don’t find it funny. I also don’t get most comedy these days. It’s so derivative and clichéd. Everyone wants the same laughs. California’s Cerasoli:LeBasse Gallery has just moved to new digs on Washington Boulevard, Culver City. And to celebrate the re-launch they have an exhibition running featuring the work of Deth P Sun, Mari Inukai [above] and Melissa Haslam, amongst others. This inaugural exhibition, the aptly titled Blender, runs until November 1st.
Cheese and Burger a great site to check out, with about 30 different burger options. Here you can find a selection of States with different burger recipes from each, along with a voiceover of a man who sounds like Mike Buffer. Fun.
No wave is alive and well, if Brooklyn duo Talk Normal are any indication. Drummer Andrya Ambro keeps things cohesive with surprisingly precise percussion, occasionally banging on such things as an electric guitar and an old iron pipe rigged with contact mics, while guitarist Sarah Register coaxes some unnerving and discordant noises from her axe and array of pedals. The two take turns shouting abstract and absurdist lyrics with voices like hi-tech valkyries from a futurist nightmare.
I am one of those typical New Yorkers who only wears black in winter. But this winter is different. With the economic crisis, and all the rest of the bad news, I have to fight the darkness in the world by wearing colors, and lots of them. Spanish designer Sybilla is known for her original designs and unique color schemes, but she is virtually unknown outside of her mother country and Japan, where she is super popular. Her younger brand Jocomomola is perfect for this gloomy winter. Read more
