Ever notice how a certain kind of lettering would seem downright evil in another context, but for a Christmas card, totally works? In these card designs by Gothscroll, black and gold scroll weaves in and out of a hand-drawn blackletter Merry Christmas, its spiky shapes a tad more heavy metal than old-fashioned.

Featuring a design by New York Times Op-Ed artist Igor Kopelnitsky these 5×7 cards have been crafted from Crane’s Lettra Letterpress re-purposed textured cotton paper made from fibres from the fashion industry. The set includes 8 blank cards with envelopes.

When I first moved to London and didn’t know a soul, I joined up with the British Film Institute [BFI] and started going to the talks they put on. When I went to see Gene Wilder speak, all the know-alls in the audience kept asking questions, not to find out anything, but just to show off to the room how much they knew about film making. He got annoyed. Genius boy genius.

Black Eyed Dog is the project of Fabio Parrinello, a singer-songwriter from Varese, in northern Italy. His second album, Rhaianuledada (Songs To Sissy), brims with a brooding intensity, referencing the best British folk ballads of the past. Rhaianuledada (Songs To Sissy) was recorded at Vicolo Recording Studio in Sicily by Fabio Genco and was mastered by Luca Martegani in Varese. Listen to the track Honeysuckle Gal.
