So when in need of a jolt, why not drink from an aesthetically caffeinated bag of beans from the famed Minneapolis small-batch coffee roasters, Bull Run.

Crafted by Letterpress wizard Jeff Holmberg of Holmberg Designs, the coffee labels house a simple pattern of muted yellow tones with punch hole locations to denote portion amount and roasting data. They even give you the option to buy your beans green if you feel like taking on a rewarding DIY coffee roasting project. Two perks in one: this is definitely a cup of coffee worth waking up to.

From food writer and cook, Laura Santtini, comes this impressive collection of ‘spellbinding’ salts, rubs, pastes, spices, and more, set to enhance any dish from ordinary to out-of-this-world status. At least that’s what the rage is all about. And there is unequivocally a rage. Coming in a wide array of imaginative flavors, these tubes, jars, and bottles are chock-full of savory, deep, deliciousness.

From simple truffle salt and porcini mushroom seasoning, to Umami No. 5 and Food Bling – 23 karat gold and silver in leaf and flake form necessary to pimp up any meal –the series has it all. With the flip of a jar or cap, you can rub, squeeze, spread, and splash these extraordinary seasonings onto meats, fishes, pastas, risottos, and the list goes on and on.

And enhancing Easy Tasty Magic’s own appeal is definitely the design. Created by the clever folks at We Should Coco, the packaging is colorful, playful, and imaginative, lending itself perfectly to the delightfulness it contains. Easy, tasty, magic, indeed.

A few months later, that tree’s bountiful harvest arrives on their doorstep. Adoption of the tree provides local, small scale, artisanal farmers the financial security to preserve their traditional farming methods, rather than move towards mechanized techniques. It also gives the adopter total bragging rights, especially as the scrumptious oils are made exclusively from organic Italian olives, handpicked. Topping off Nudo’s concept is the packaging. Chic tins made from recycled materials boast bright plump olives that make you want to show off your tree’s hard work to all your friends.

Granted, it could be worse, but with all the preservatives, additives, and sugars that make their way into dried fruits like those I eat in bulk, the after effects can be pretty unappetizing. Enter Southern Alps, a UK-based health conscious brand that produces totally natural mueslis, snack bars, and ‘slow’ fruits.

The fact that it’s ‘slow’ is an important distinction: Southern Alps’ dries fresh mangoes, apples, strawberries, and other fruits in slightly warm natural air for a painstakingly long time, which somehow negates the need for chemicals. When finally ready for market, these healthy products are slipped into stylish minimalist packaging. There is admittedly a down side though: Southern Alps’ products are a bit expensive, to say the least.
