In 2011, I was sucked into the world of video game cross stitching thanks to a little website and community of 8-bit craftsters called SpriteStitch. Seeing people turn entire montages of the 150 First Generation Pokemon into stitch-for-pixel coasters and fridge magnets blew my mind. Months of hermitting, several blisters and 54,000 stitches later, my first Day Of The Tentacle cross stitch was born. This hobby was addictive and fascinating, and now it’s hard not to look at everyday objects like a carton of milk or Big Muff pedal and imagine it recreated in tiny pixel stitches.
