It all started when Pam came across an old ad from the 19th century in which a man was hoping to find his ’bright, particular star’. He wrote a sweet personal ad for love and put it in the newspaper, much like people use eHarmony for  today. Ever since Pam found that one strange ad, she’s kept a blog of other similarly funny, strange, poignant, or just plain bizarre personal ads from the 19th century. The one that really stuck out to me was written by a widow with a singe child. She is advertising in hopes of finding a strong protector to marry.

It’s amazing what kind of bold faced lies come out of designer’s mouths. Call it designer slang, jargon, or terms of the trade, but we all know it’s bullshit. This is a comprehensive collection of only the best design jargon bullshit. It’s a good laugh if nothing else. One of my favorites is the ridiculous phrase used to sell the Instagram logo. The blog describes itself with this phrase: ‘This blog ensures focus and consensus whilst encouraging maximum creative flexibility across multiple touchpoints’. It’s just more jargon bullshit from the masters themselves.
