Federico Ruiz, aka Astronauta Perdido (The Lost Astronaut), is a passionate photographer from the vibrant city of Medellín, Colombia. Faces, signs, parties, and movements are condensed into powerful photographs which have been featured in local newspapers and magazines such as JPG. His work is a demonstration of this adventurous spirit. Last year Federico’s photos were part of Colombia Connect, a display of young Colombian talent in Taiwan, and this year he was a part of the London expo, Colombia y su Riqueza, held at the London School of Economics.
Viktor Hertz, the clever artist who brought us the pictogram movie poster sensation, is back with a new soon-to-go-viral project titled Honest Logos. In the series, Hertz hilariously reveals the actual content of the company. Or at least what he thinks they should really be called. Read more

Improv Everywhere strikes again with a spontaneous musical in a Los Angeles mall. Wireless microphones hooked up to the mall’s PA system ensured the feeding masses didn’t slip into Cinnabon-induced comas until after the show was over. Note especially the angry dude in sunglasses at about 2:51 — apparently he thinks nothing can ever top Rent.
These twin sixty-story towers to be built in Malaysia feature a combination of ‘continuous, flowing, double-curved perforated surface with a flickering, crystalline, transparent single-curved surface that is triangulated on an enormous scale’. The design by New York-based architectural firm, Asymptote, includes a 400,000 square foot retail section and the Penang Performing Arts centre.
Going about day-to-day life can be a chore, which is why the guys at Anxiety Culture are delivering highly valid excuses for why people should feel free to do exactly as they please, which, in most cases, is absolutely nothing. Read more
Recently formed hip-hop duo, Rootbeer (Pigeon John and Flynn Adam), have just dropped a super fresh piece of audio pie right in your kitchen. Influenced by artists such as MGMT, N.E.R.D and A Tribe Called Quest, Rootbeer offer up an edgy and unfeigned lyrical style. Turn up their debut release, The Pink Limousine EP, to eleven. You’ll find it impossible not to make shapes.
I am one of those typical New Yorkers who only wears black in winter. But this winter is different. With the economic crisis, and all the rest of the bad news, I have to fight the darkness in the world by wearing colors, and lots of them. Spanish designer Sybilla is known for her original designs and unique color schemes, but she is virtually unknown outside of her mother country and Japan, where she is super popular.
