UK company Re-Worked turns rubbish into recycled products in an effort to reduce carbon emissions. Their latest effort is Çurface, a range of furniture (including coffee tables, appropriately enough) made from a mixture of used coffee grounds and polystyrene. The pieces can be ordered through their website and apparently they may smell like coffee grounds for the first few weeks. Sounds like a caffeine addict’s dream.
FOR CREATIVE INSPIRATION
In partnership with our friends at Optus, we present the third in a three part Lost At E Minor video series that puts the spotlight on some young, handpicked Australian creatives, doing inspirational things within their chosen fields. Episode Three features 16-year old Melbourne-based producer, Gab Strum (aka Japanese Wallpaper), who has racked up thousands of plays over the past year or so via a number of well-blogged remixes ranging from City Calm Down and The Townhouses to bootlegs of The xx and Bon Iver.
