The perfect balance between shiraz and parmesan is what came to mind when we met Nat Denning, a fashion retailer and Michael, a retail shopfitter, who have combined to create Fallow, one of Australia’s most stylish and unique boutiques. Read more

I don’t necessarily want to own this R Moto electric superbike by Erik Holmen and Rob Brady, but I wouldn’t mind a test drive. Just saying.

Micah P. Hinson is like every rustic, broken down, and pieced back together country great that’s ever been. Only hipper and slightly less sombre. This track, Diggin’ A Grave, is a button-up hoe down with a classic pop chorus and a jangly banjo accompaniment. Yup, some folk have all the fun.

Belgian architect Vincent Callebaut is an award-winning designer with varied projects. This one, entitled The Lilypad, is nothing short of amazing. It’s an eco-city, floating on water, with the ability to accommodate upwards of 50,000 people. If built as designed, this structure (which uses most, if not all, available environmental technologies) would sustainably produce more power than it would consume.

As his nation engages in a perpetual military stand-off with South Korea, Kim Jong-Il always takes time out to look at stuff. Just to make sure. Read more

The pan flutes can get a little much, but I still really like Mariee Sioux debut studio album Faces in the Rocks. I’m hoping she has a new album in the works. Listen to her cover of the Cure’s Love Song below.

I don’t know if it’s the name, the relaxed look, or the attitude that just don’t sit too well with authority, but something about New York based label Sophomore has got us reminiscing about the good old days. Their current collection has boys and girls getting back-to-basics. Think jersey sweats and loose tees, mixed with yoke necks, caplet sleeves and tapered waists. And you know what that means? The search for the perfect white tee and the ultimate summer singlet is over. If that’s not enough to get you inspired, pull out your denim, pop on some 1970s vintage Jodie Foster, and get ready to channel some Lower East Side cred.

Now this is fun. This 3D watch dial actually jumps to life. The dial is a modern version of the 19th century art form of lithophanes: carved porcelain sheets that, when lit, deliver astoundingly detailed images. When the pusher is activated, the dial springs to life in 3D, with an LED light and afterglow effect. Read more
