In one of Christophe Gilbert’s photo-surrealist pieces, three nude babies with heart-shaped butts, are lying in a row, backs to the sun, waiting for their turn to suckle their mother’s breast. Their mother is more victim than muse. Her anatomically flawless body is flailed across the ground, in a way that looks like it had been beaten up and thrown down after a hard day’s night of sadomasochism. She is asleep, but not peacefully. Most likely, when her loving triplets had woken her up in the middle of the night to be breast-fed, she was in such a hideous state that she simply rolled over to them and whispered, ‘Just have your way with me’. Anna Von Mertens paints aura readings taken from classical portraits and photographs of iconic people, commenting on the ‘soul’ in art in the digital age with the resulting ghostly images.
Richard Colman is one hell of an awesome human being. I go back and forth on whether or not I enjoyed him more in his drinking days or post drinking days. I guess there are pros and cons to both scenarios. He is a very talented man and a close friend. We have exchanged ideas over the years and pushed each other in the true spirit of oneupsmanship. He’s proven to be a great source of inspiration.
Comedy troupe Summer of Tears edited itself into the classic ’80s movie Teen Wolf, starring Michael J. Fox, providing a new and gut-bustingly hilarious side-plot.
PLUS, designed by Mount Fuji Architects Studio, is an amazing weekend house built on the Izu-san mountainside in Tokyo, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The building is largely made of marble, and is so clean and zen in its form as to be unnerving. Read more

The Virtual Shoe Museum was initiated by Liza Snook in 2004. Once the idea was born, a long search began for designers, photographers and publishers connected to shoes. New friendships developed and their mailbox filled with loads of material on fantastic shoes, art and design on shoes. The Shoe featured above is the Electric Light Shoe by Strawberry Frog.
