French artist Christian Boltanski’s No Man’s Land is one of the most ambitious installations America has ever experienced. Centred around a five-story crane, Boltanski explores the notion of mortality by incorporating 30 tonnes of discarded clothing, more than 3000 used cookie tins, and the sound of human heartbeats gathered from around the world.
