Chris Anthony’s latest photo series was taken on Venice Beach. However, they don’t focus on fun under the sun or the clear water, as most beach images do. Instead, fully clothed models pose in everyday positions. The color of the scenery has been taken away, leaving the image almost black and white, thus giving an empty feeling that leaves the viewer intrigued and with plenty to question.
The Nightlife Exchange Project involves 14 countries around the world filling crates with the best of their local nightlife and exchanging their country’s crate with another. It kicked off in Australia with artist and China Heights curator Ed Woodley giving the Aussie crate a good lick of paint at Sydney’s Darling Harbour [pictured], and the crate will be making it’s way around the country before enjoying a send off party in October. Sparks’ album Kimono My House is a demented mix of hard rock, pop, glam, new wave, and baroque pop. Why this record never caught on in the States I’ll never know. The songs will get stuck in your head and prevent you from sleeping. Oh yeah, and the keyboard player has a nice mustache too, as evidenced by this track above — This Town Ain’t Big Enough.
Draped in a charming rustic veneer, the Meow Cottage at the Old Marshall House in Franklin, Tennessee, is a self-contained cottage situated on the grounds of a sprawling — and quite beautiful — B&B. Read more

Where would we be without synths and drum machines? Probably still listening to Grateful Dead jams in the alleyways of Height-Asbury. Done well, the remix is a wonderful thing. Case in point is Royksopp’s rendering of the Kings of Convenience track I Don’t Know What I Can Save You From. And then there’s Riton’s version of the Mystery Jets song, The Boy Who Ran Away. A White Lines for the 21st Century? I think so.
