I re-read both the Hernanadez brothers collected works about once a year and there’s not a lot between them. But somehow the subject matter and sheer storytelling verve of Locas tips the balance for me. I’m constantly in awe of how they both can chronicle the lives of huge casts of characters. Greek firm A31 just completed this sturdy-looking art warehouse for Alexandros Liapis in Dilesi, Boeotia. From some angles, the concrete structure looks like a fallout-proof bunker, but from the front it looks like an open and airy barn, the exterior looking very much like wood. Read more

Illustrator and artist John Malloy has been working on a graphic novel called Channel One and, without wanting to sound too much like Paris Hilton, it’s looking pretty damn hot. Update! As of July 2009, John Malloy has aborted the graphic novel Channel One to focus more on other projects, including his autobiographical graphic novel, Queasy. Stay tuned for details. Read more
