I went to music school every Saturday as a kid, and I remember seeing all these older girls, tragic-looking in their wine-colored velour dresses (it was the ’90s), and wondering if the hickies on their necks were from boys or playing the violin. Carla Bozulich could have been one of these girls, listening to Diamanda Galas and Daisy Chainsaw on her Walkman between cello and piano lessons. Making a name for herself as a founding member of Ethyl Meatplow and one-time frontwoman for the Geraldine Fibbers, Bozulich’s solo work weaves together strings, guitar, samplers, dissonant pianos, and her distinctive voice to make smoldering, sinister, broken pleas to an invisible tormentor.

I adore the band Health and am left fascinated by this glamorously bouncy We Are Water remix by Canadian duo Azari & III, who have taken it to outer house-space. It’s pure 80s late night disco at its finest. Ghost Buster meets Short Circuit, anyone?

Seriously, all jokes aside, we really need to tear ourselves away from our computers every once in a while. These shirts, on sale at Threadless, may be intended as a light-hearted jab at modern culture, but who will be laughing when our hands become gnarled claws from decades of ceaseless typing and our spinal columns have fused solid from lack of movement? Evil monkeys, that’s who.

Italian brand Brionvega has resurrected the classy Radiofonografio piece first created in 1965. The updated version is just like the original turntable/radio unit, but also has a CD/DVD player.
Okayboss is an illustrator based in sunny Sydney who combines the powers of PB&J sandwiches, cats on the Internet, and a pocketful of edible crayons into a rainbow Voltron drawingbot. His shirts are anything from abstract space particles, to hands with expressions, while his music-inspired art prints are playful, witty, and gorgeous.
