On their forthcoming album, Get Over It!, Care Bears On Fire, the Brooklyn-based pop-punk trio of indie girl rockers, combine a propulsive beat with witty lyrics that relate the insecurities of adolescence, nicely captured on the tracks, Barbie Eat a Sandwich, an hilarious assault on women’s beauty standards, and this one, the first single, Everybody Else.
The sun always seems to be rising or setting in Chris Sheban’s haunting children’s illustrations. His books — I Met a Dinosaur, Catching the Moon, and Red Fox at McCloskey’s Farm, and The Shoe Tree of Chagrin — are instant classics, on par with Goodnight Moon and Midnight Express. Read more
Marshmallows are typically consumed as treats or used to garnish hot chocolates, until Nathan Wratislaw decided to turn the sugared pleasures into breakfast cereal. I’m talking about crispy and crunchy marshmallow bites that are guaranteed to motivate early risers to get out of bed even earlier for their next sugar fix.
