I once went to a Williamsburg party at which world renowed Card Stacker, Bryan Berg, was also in attendance. I’d been told beforehand about his ability to construct large scale models of cityscapes out of cards: using no glue, no outside support, and no trickery. Read more

This illustration by Richard Lee was on the cover of a motorcycle magazine in San Francisco, published in September 2008. They were doing an issue on motorcycle bar fights. Says Lee of the work: ‘The version I sent was the original, but the editor decided that he didn’t want the pink dildo in there, so the actual printed version was replaced with a wrench. I still think the original idea with the pink dildo was funnier’. Yes, so do we.
This remarkable construction is located in the Swedish village of Jukkasjärvi and is built entirely from scratch every year. It features 10,000 tonnes of ice from the nearby Torne River, and 30,000 tonnes of snow, covering more than 30,000 square feet in total. Oh, it even has its own ice chapel. We spoke to Dopepope about his latest Metal Man Project: ‘In the fifth grade, I drew a comic called Metal Man about a humanoid robot that went crazy and pulled knives on people. It’s the most ridiculous thing ever. I was a kid! Anyway, I found the artwork and simply traced the head and the logo exactly as I had them and fell in love with the iconic shapes they’ve created’.
