No, this isn’t the end of the world – it’s just the end of the chocolate bar as you know it. And for that you can thank Sweeteeth Chocolates, a little company based in Charleston, South Carolina that dreamed up the A’Chocolypse chocolate bar – four ounces of 70 percent dark chocolate, candied ginger, and tongue-tickling popping sugar.

Sweeteeth founder Eric “Jonny” Battles, who describes himself as “a tattooed Alabama boy and self-taught chocolatier,” has plenty of other ingenious flavor combinations up his sleeve. Try the PB&C chocolate bar, which marries peanut butter and hot, smoky chipotle pepper. Or the “Sea is for Caramel” bar – a luxe combination of dark chocolate, caramel, and fleur de sel. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can order a box of chocolates and you’ll get a surprise mix of all of the flavors that are brewing that week. Just a few bites should convince you: There’s a whole new world of chocolate out there, and it’s just waiting to be devoured.
