This is a contemporary musical instrument manufactured by PanArt in Switzerland. If you’ve never heard about it, check out this hang solo by Manu Delago. This Austrian musician has also collaborated with Björk, Lockwood and the London Symphony Orchestra.

Bjork is back with a new album, and here’s the new video from the single Crystalline. It’s directed by Michel Gondry, who has directed her videos before, and it’s awesome.

This anarcho-punk band from late 70s London were an example of rebellious music aimed at England’s class politics at that time. I still see crusty kids dressed as punks wearing the Crass emblem and logo, hoping they understand the story behind the look. This song, Walls, is one of the few anarcho-punk disco tunes I’ve heard of. The Crass Records label put out the band, KUKL, which featured Bjork on vocals at age 15. Awesome.

London-based Ellie Goulding is one of my favourite music artists of the year. She won me over with Guns + Horses, and now the B-side to her latest single, Under The Sheets, seems to be having the same effect on me. Fighter Plane is a magical, sentimental track full of silky vocals and relaxing synths. If you dig Bjork and Imogen Heap et al. then you’ll be pleased with Goulding’s angelic ballad.
