In the latest Tumblr instalment of whatever-will-they-think-of-next, we’ve spied Beyonce Art History, which mashes up lyrics from the pop diva’s tunes, meme-style, with timeless paintings and artworks from humanity’s illustrious art history. The blog was started by Leigh Silver, an arts and culture intern at Huffington Post. It’s rather clever.

What was she looking at when she made that face? One can only imagine. Or better yet, make a hilarious meme series! After Beyonce’s performance at the Super Bowl Halftime show, a few very unflattering photos surfaced on BuzzFeed. The star’s publicists did the logical thing and asked that the worst one’s be removed. Unfortunately for Beyonce, Reddit community pounced on the opportunity like a pack of hungry wolves. And so this wonderful meme series was born.

We invited Greg Gillis, aka Girl Talk, who aside from being the DJ of the moment is also the remix whiz behind tracks from Beck, Tokyo Police Club, and Grizzly Bear, to give us a rundown on the songs he’s wearing out right now for our sister site, My Secret Playlist. He started off by propping Beyonce’s anthemic single, Single Ladies [listen below]. Go figure! ‘This is one of my favorite Beyonce tracks ever.
