American artist Scott Blake takes barcodes and makes them into portraits of pop icons. He has already amassed a handy collection of over 30 large-scale digital portraits. You can even scan the barcodes to unfold their personal stories. For instance, Barcode Oprah is assembled with ISBN barcodes from her book club. Now we wait for the QR code versions.
FOR CREATIVE INSPIRATION
In partnership with our friends at Optus, we present the third in a three part Lost At E Minor video series that puts the spotlight on some young, handpicked Australian creatives, doing inspirational things within their chosen fields. Episode Three features 16-year old Melbourne-based producer, Gab Strum (aka Japanese Wallpaper), who has racked up thousands of plays over the past year or so via a number of well-blogged remixes ranging from City Calm Down and The Townhouses to bootlegs of The xx and Bon Iver.
