Back in my days of adolescence, the undeniably cool cast of Heartbreak High were secret idols. That warehouse they lived in! Man, I wanted to be there. But when that went off air, the only taste of beach life in Australia was the vacuity of Home and Away. So it was with real nostalgia, and a full-on rib cracking laugh, that I caught my first episode of the spoof documentary Summer Heights High. It’s absolutely hilarious, there’s no two ways about it. It’s The Office, as interpreted by an Aussie high school.
Lin Zhipeng’s flash-heavy snapshot photos have a Terry Richardson vibe about them, but without the smarminess. Instead, Lin documents a playfulness with which young Chinese people are approaching newfound freedoms in their society. Read more

If only we could swap out every ubiquitous North Face jacket that sits tight on the weather-beaten frames of far too many Manhattanites for one of these wonderful creations by Japanese artist, Kosuke Tsumura. The city would be that much more of an interesting place. Called Final Home, this parka has 44 zippered pockets and is part of Tsumura’s collection of ‘post-apocalyptic streetwear’, designed as a respite — and insulation — from the stresses of modern urban living.

In 2008, graphic designer Becky Edgington and illustrator Sarah Beetson created two limited-edition packs of playing cards featuring images from Beetson’s exhibition, 50 Bucks: Bring On The Sluts. The images were selected from almost 500 small artworks created on moleskine paper, inspired by vintage pornography and a trip to Japan. Read more
