I love the colours and textures in the jewellery design of New Zealand-born Karen Swaffer. She launched her label, Smoulder, in 2008, more recently taking aesthetic inspiration from a ‘trip to the outback with a group of artists and an indigenous guide’. Her bracelets, in particular, are wonderfully uplifting. Read more

These intricate rings from Bonfire Folk were the first of Kim Wearnes’ jewellery line. Once known as Square Peg Round Hole, Wearnes collaborated with Melbourne-based fashion boutique, Fat, to establish the new brand: Bonfire Folk. With their detailed silhouettes inspired by nature (either a branch or swooping bird) these pieces of art are simply gorgeous.
Dogs have finally graduated from unwilling fashion victims. You know the ones: strolling the streets with their pink booties, rhinestone collars and ever-popular powder blue t shirts. Now they can stand as distinguished animals, joining the linguistic world and representing a font type. Eurostyle is my favorite. Woof!
This fantastic walk-in installation was created by Berlin-based designer, Klaus R. Zimmermann. The installation deals with idols and anti-idols in society today: by entering the box, we can all become our own super hero or villian. Read more

The coolest band in Indonesia? I think so. White Shoes & The Couples Company describe themselves as a small band that is ‘influenced by Indonesian movie soundtracks from the 70s and inspired by the acoustic spirit of 1930′s classic jazz musicians’. But I like to think of them as carrying the torch for artists like Benny Goodman, Tahiti 80, and The Cardigans, all at the same time.

Baltimore Mural by Josh Van Horne
My friend Josh Van Horne, a local Baltimore artist, did this amazing mural in our neighborhood that depicts the history of this warehouse-laden area.
Get lost in a daydream or a craving for something sweet while gazing at these cool sculptures by Brooklyn-based WiNK WiNK PONY. Made using clay, tree bark, wood, and mossy moss.
