In this music video, the artist combined traditional watercolor techniques with digital effects. Every texture, illustration or letter was painted and scanned several times to achieve this beautiful effect. It took weeks to produce because of the high level of details and the painting effect the artist wanted to achieve. It’s a brilliant combination of traditional art and motion graphics. The artist is the same guy behind experimental music videos from Mos Def and Amon Tobin. This is the first project of Sublime Silence, a collaborative studio that specializes in fine art and experimental videos.

I’ve always had a small, nagging fear in the back of my mind that a monster meteorite might splinter the earth into a million pieces. But when I step back and think it through, there actually have been a whole lot of meteorite strikes. And the earth is still just fine. Thanks to the smarts of Carlo Zapponi, we can now get the animated visualization of all meteorites that have ever hit the earth.

That’s a lot of meteorites, about 1,042 meteorites in total. Zapponi is a data visualization designer at Nokia and obviously has a passion for astrological phenomenon. This animation is a great way to get used to the idea of alien rocks pelting our earth on a regular basis.

Johnerick’s work is a creative mixture of animation techniques that compliments the song’s themes of inner reflection. ‘Who can say what’s good for each of us, besides each of us?’ Bronson explains. ‘How strong do you have to be to listen to what you feel, despite what others may say to the contrary? And yet, we’re still hopelessly reliant on each other. That’s just the way it is’.

We just recently finished a low poly commercial for a Korean company called MagnaLAB to promote their flagship app, YellowRibbon. The app allows the users to send a message to a person who can only open the message when he/she gets to the specific location the sender wants them to go to. This video explains the story behind the tradition of the yellow ribbon, while showing what the app is all about with a sweet story. The entire animation was created with Blender, and the render engine used was Cycles. A little bit of post-production was added with After Effects.

When was the last time you sent a paper airplane love letter to a complete stranger? Well, maybe you should take a hint from Paperman and try it out. It seemed to work for him. Paperman is a short film that came about when director John Kahrs began to wonder if his interactions with strangers on a public train could ever amount to anything more. The short was executed using a gorgeous animation style that fuses hand-drawn illustration with top of-the-line computer animation.

Written and directed by Australian Christopher Kezelos, and produced by Christine Kezelos, Zero is a stop-motion animation that cleverly takes a look at society’s minority groups through numbers.”We’re all born of the same matter, however we’re not all born equal’. Zero is born into a world where the higher your number, the more respected you are. 9′s are the most important, while 0′s are at the bottom of the social ladder. Zero struggles with loneliness and the feeling that he will never fit in until he meets another Zero – a forbidden love – as the domination of Zero is prohibited from multiplying. It’s a bit of social commentary, it’s a bit of fun and it’s a lot of animation.

Two Australian artists created a stop motion chalkboard animated store window for the famed Christmas display at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City. The 80-second film by directors Lucinda Schreiber (from Photoplay) and Yanni Kronenberg was the only window of the six at the flagship store that was created by international artists. It has the distinction of being the only window by any invited artist, as Saks’ long-standing design company contractor installed all other windows. The technique used was similar to the pair’s award-winning Firekites music video. The clip garnered half a million YouTube hits and caught the attention of Saks Fifth Avenue executives, which led to the direct invitation to create the Christmas window commission. The window animation ran until New Year’s Day.
