Stephen Gschmeissner’s new series of 3D insect photos seriously puts a whole new spin on seeing up close creepy crawlies in the movie Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. The 62 year-old scientific photographer zoomed in 150 times to showcase what termites, flies, beetles and other every day insects really look like in creative macro fashion.
Leave it to nature to get it so right. And then Dr. Mohamed Babu to bring these remarkable photos to the world. Dr Babu discovered that the abdomens in these translucent ants would change colour according to the different liquid sugar that they drank. All of which makes for a fascinating photo series and a noble experiment for the kids next summer vacation.
