Radical artist Adam Cullen is raising money for Australia’s most endangered species by donating a characteristically vicious painting to the cause. Rather than hitting up the usual suspects, Adam is asking guests at The Cullen Hotel (yep, he has an Art Series Hotel named after him) to bid on the big brute. So far, the bids are running at $18K.

The Cullen, in trendy Prahran, Melbourne, is five star luxury with a twist: each room is plastered with prints and art inspired books. Dripping with artist Adam Cullen’s work, The Cullen offers the opportinity to experience the Art of Living Fearlessly. A culmination of nearly four years of writing and recording, Omaha quintet, The Faint are preparing to release their fifth album, Fasciinatiion, on August 5 on the band’s own newly-formed label, blank.wav. Working without any time constraints, the songs went through many recorded incarnations before finding their final forms. The result is the best album in the band’s career, a record that is the purest culmination of The Faint’s brilliant musical instincts, ideas and aesthetic, with each member contributing equally to its creation.
