Like the fairy godmothers of Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, the three belles of Australian performance art company Strange Fruit floated above my head, tracing unfamiliar grace at the tips of 14-foot poles rather than an illustrator’s pen. Like all good circuses, it makes you think that special effects can suck it.
