Ever been in the mood to rearrange a seventeenth century Dutch still life painting? Well, now you can, thanks to In Still Life 2001-2010.

This site is based off of John Baldessari’s piece In Still Life that he did for LACMA back in 2001, where he hung Abraham van Beyeren’s Banquet Still Life on the wall next to an empty frame and invited people to rearrange the objects in the original Dutch painting, thus creating a new still life of their own. Now, nine years later, that opportunity to create (or recreate) like the masters is possible. Just don’t be surprised when your college art teacher fails you for trying to pass it off as your finished painting assignment for Art 101.
