These moonlighting American presidents. There’s Abraham Lincoln, vampire hunter. And now we find Barack Obama, pop singer. He’s been hitting a rough patch on the political side lately, but he’s at least hitting some right notes on these spliced-up pop song mashups by an enterprising YouTube user who’s also hawking tees along with the laughs. So, how does Obama fare? He totally kills Call Me Maybe, is semi-convincing for Sexy And I Know It, but totally flops when it comes to channeling his inner pop diva for Born This Way and Drink To That.

Miami’s up-and-coming arts district got a little bit cooler last year with the opening of Wynwood Kitchen & Bar, an art gallery-meets-bistro-meets-watering hole that has Miami hipsters swooning. Built inside an old warehouse, Wynwood has a sleek, minimalist look that provides a perfect backdrop for the art on display. An 11-foot-high sculpture of a rainbow-hued man greets guests upon entry, and murals by Shepard Fairey — better known for creating that iconic HOPE poster featuring Barack Obama — adorn the walls.

The art extends from the restaurant out front to the kitchen in the back, where Chef Marco Ferraro creates his own sausages of pork, beef, lamb and veal. Not a fan of meat? Try the equally delicious cilantro-laced seafood ceviche, or the delicate roasted beet and walnut salad. Or just go for a drink – with 40 beers and 70 bottles of wine to choose from, you won’t be disappointed.
The website offers different articles, where the proud creator shows his works, and a complete shop where special attention is given to the buyers of Barack Obama, which is — understandably — a hot item.

Super catchy old-school pop songs delivered by the enigmatic raspy-voiced Jack Medicine keep The Electric Illuminati on regular rotation here at the English household. Subjects for songs range from a messianic Barack Obama, to MC Supersized (the 500 pound Ronald McDonald), to a sequel to the Beatles song, Fool on the Hill. Jack sings the clever, darkly optimistic lyrics I have always wanted to hear in pop songs with energetic aplomb and a glee that would make Kurt Cobain’s corpse blush. Full disclosure: I am the band’s lyricist.
