Hello, my name is Zolton and I'm a non-dancer. That's right, a non-dancer. I choose not to dance for the mental welfare of others, though my inability to shake and roll with the best of them can probably be traced back to the Id, the Ego; that darn voice that sits somewhere at the back of my head and reminds me that any inclination to hurl myself about the dancefloor will not go down well in public. So I choose not to. Heck ... it's my party and I'll sit quietly and observe if I want to. In fact, I propose a coalition of like-minded souls. A union of non-dancers. Together we'll mope about the fringes of every damn dancefloor, shooting daggers at those loudly dressed cats with their JK moves. And if our feet tap awkwardly in time with the snare, then so be it. We feel the rhythm. We just choose not to express it. Which is not to say I don't have my outlets. Why is it, for instance, that every time I see the film-clip to Daft Punk's 'One More Time' I want to peel back the screen and join that wonderful anime landscape - to live in their saccharine sweet world with a pet monkey by my side that always has my best interests at heart. Now that's true friendship. Ah ... pure unadulterated escapism. I'd give my kingdom for just ten minutes of the stuff. And while I concede that a barrow full of cds doesn't go far these days, I'm sure someone out there will make me an offer I can't refuse.

Just a quick reminder about the book that I'm putting together and which will be a very limited collection of artwork from Lost At E Minor contributors. The theme for the first of them is 'Breathe' and if you're an artist, photographer, illustrator or even a writer and you're interested in submitting some original work for inclusion, please send me an email and I'll give you some more details. Meanwhile one of Sydney's cultural Meccas, The Tap Gallery - a wonderfully dynamic and proactive organisation - is staging a performance of The October Sapphire, a musical comedy by Nick Coyle: 'The play is beautiful, decadent and nostalgic; like Marilyn Monroe, only very much alive! Set in a ruined mansion, The October Sapphire is about love, fame, regret and magic, with songs and music by the Indie-Prince, Andy Clockwise, and starring the nine biggest stars of tomorrow, today. This fiercely original play casts new light on that tired old 'girl falling in love with a puppet in the house of a crazy movie star' cliche, and utilises with finesse your basic love-dodecahedron'. It all kicks off on October 12th and there's more information at The Tap Gallery website.

Frail music review
Frail is a stunning album showcasing one of the most beautiful voices in contemporary music. There's a real depth to Maria Solheim's music. She sings about universal issues with a delicacy and degree of compassion that frames the gentle acoustic based arrangements. Right from the subtle guitar picking of the opening song, Too Many Days, a sense of understated perfection is created. The music rolls along calmly, an upright bass and Wurlitzer providing the melodic accompaniment to Solheim's narrative lyrics. The jaunty swing of Mr Iceman is about as upbeat as it gets before the strings kick in to bring it all back to its slow country-esque waltz. The Norwegian singer-songwriter never forces the moment. Frail is, instead, a timeless collection of songs, produced with an ear towards the exceptional talents of the musicians that she's used. You can hear some MP3's from the album at the Harmony Ridge website.

Two colourful works from Spanish artist Muntsa Vicente. She has spent time working in Glasgow and New York before settling down in Barcelona where her client list includes La Vanguardia, Elle, Woman, Clara and Ragazza. She has also recently done the illustrations for Mio Amichi's Eau de Toilette TV commercial. Her style is always so positive - full of characters with a twinkle in their eyes and a sense on mischief on their minds. Till next time ... Zolton
