Submissions

Submitting banner art
If you’d like to submit a banner to run at the top of the Lost At E Minor website, please submit it at the following dimensions:

* 540px wide x 125px high at 72dpi
* The banner can be a GIF, JPG or PNG, depending on the type of image. Bear in mind that JPG is most appropriate for detailed images; GIF for really basic blocks of colour; and png has issues in some older browsers because it has alpha-transparency settings.

Submitting art, illustrations, photos or fashion
If you want to submit some work to be featured on Lost At E Minor, or you just want to let us know about someone you think we should be covering, then let us know via the submission form below.

Format for submissions
Please use the submit form below and send us three images with your submission in the following format:

* Low res jpegs at 72 dpi and less than 100kb, or you owe us a soda
* 480 pixels wide, or the Nigerian diplomat won’t actually transfer funds to your account
* Preferably less than 500 pixels high, or you will be sucked into an alternate dimension where everyone is named Bob

Submitting clothes, CDs or products for review
Yes, we love samples — except for Burmese aphrodisiacs and running shoes made out of wood. So please, for the love of all that’s good in the world, stop sending us those.

But send everything else to:

If Pharrell’s calling these guys ‘geniuses’, you’d better watch out! Chester French are Ivy League prep boys from Massachusetts who have mastered an interesting Beatlesque sound tinged with Motown influences. When, in May 2007, the duo — D.A. and Max — completed their recording and their degrees (in African American Studies and Social Anthropology respectively), they were snapped up by Pharrell Williams’ label Star Trak.

Palpably somber, the beautiful work of Californian illustrator Jorge Mascarenas really lends the viewer a tangible means through which to wallow in quiet melancholy. Read more

Damn, ten years of playing guitar in loud rock bands, and not once did we have a slamming moshpit like this. Banging heads is so, so fun.

Joe Sorren

We asked Arizona-based artist Joe Sorren what we would have been if he hadn’t been handed the most ridiculously generous serving of artistic talent: ‘Art historian and conservationalist. Or a botanist. Or I’d work with horses. It would be interesting to be behind the scenes in politics, at least for a while. Or maybe a studio musician, or invent games, or a … I would rather paint’. Ah, we agree.

James Blagden’s neon fantasies

New York illustrator James Blagden’s work is so wonderfully trippy, I feel like I need to wear shades and a top hat when looking at them just to do them justice. Read more

This wicked new villain, Muraida, from the OSK line is a 10 inch vinyl with six points of articulation. It comes in a combination of solid and clear vinyl, and is packed with more punch than a thousand GI Joe’s.

Lie-ins and Tigers

Design collectives can often be a mess, only bound together by a splash page and a few lines of text. Lie-ins and Tigers are without a doubt one of the most unified collectives and one of my favourites. Sam Kerr, Walter Newton and Russell Weekes may all have their own sites and services, but in collaboration, the humour and design intention remains remarkably unified. Read more
