The best radio program you may have never heard? Joe Frank is a genius. His shows never cease to amuse or amaze me. Smart, bizarre, and extremely funny. I’ve never heard anything else like it. Dim the lights, grab some red wine, light a candle. Listen.

Cool Websites / Stereomood: listen to music that matches your mood
May 9, 2012 | Cool Websites | by Dijana Necovski |
Stereomood is better than a freshly baked croissant. Okay, maybe you can’t eat Stereomood, but you can listen to it during cooking time. Just as I was waving good-bye to my iPod and closing the drawer I was burying it in, a friend of mine sent me a link. I was filled with complete happiness and optimism. The world will be okay, I thought to myself. I proposed to said friend as I was feeling quite romantic during our candlelit dinner and was rejected. I mm now feeling quite lonely, with a slight hangover.

Morrissey, the solo artist and former member of the iconic band The Smiths, does not conform to mainstream ideals. So this website, which compiles a collection of his media interviews, provides an enlightened insight into the musician’s brutally honest viewpoint on creativity, fame and introspection. Much in the same way his sometimes shocking songs do.

Cool Websites / Cringeworthy, politically incorrect advertising at its best
May 4, 2012 | Cool Websites | by Zolton |
Ok, we’ve found our new favourite Pinterest page, not that we condone any of the messaging that appears on it. No, no. That would be politically incorrect, and we all know that to survive in industry these days, it pays to remain correct to every social norm imaginable. So we simply point you in this direction and chuckle quietly into our hankerchiefs. Read more

May 4, 2012 | Cool Websites | by Earl Barrett-Holloway |

It’s just something every New Yorker can relate to because, sometimes, the subway is a freak show. Read more

Cool Websites / Shit London
May 4, 2012 | Cool Websites | by Alice Cottle |
My friend forwarded me this website recently and I found it pretty incredible. Awards are offered to the shittiest photo submitted. From an anthropological perspective, this site certainly makes me feel closer to London. At an eye’s view, these images capture life in the city that we see but leave unexposed below the cosmopolitan radar. It is these places that bring out London’s multidimensional urbanity. Read more

May 3, 2012 | Cool Websites | by Margarita Peker |
There are few benefits to being born a Soviet. After 25 years as a Moldovan, however, I have identified three: pickled delicacies, rose gold, and the god given right to laugh at other Russians. I think there is just something undeniably hilarious about stereotypical Russians, and for the next five minutes, I extend my birthright to you, reader, so that you can be unrestrained in your enjoyment of these awfully photoshopped Russian wedding pictures. I consider myself lucky to have had the opportunity to revel in New Jersey artist Heejin Roh’s impossibly subtle graphite drawings in person recently. Roh is a fresh out graduate of the SVA Illustration Master’s Program, which had it’s annual student show recently. Having been so impressed with Roh’s work at the show, I was pleased to discover that her images translate so nicely into a tiny jpeg on my computer screen. I only wish there were more!
I recently discovered the work of Quentin Shih, a one-of-a-kind Chinese photographer and artist. I especially appreciate his natural propensity for minimal and the delicate touch that makes his works as soft as silk.

The song Blasphemous Rumours by Depeche Mode is just about the most dark, beautiful thing I’ve ever heard. There’s something very compelling about it all: it’s gloomy and depressing during the verses, but then this sexy, almost hypnotically melodic chorus bursts in out of nowhere. The song came out in 1984 and is reputedly based on a true story, with singer Dave Gahan concluding at the end of it all: ‘I don’t want to start any blasphemous rumours but I think that God’s got a sick sense of humour, and when I die, I expect to find Him laughing’. Brilliant.

Although these things look very cool, they could not possibly be comfortable. The artist behind them, John Kelly, wanted the clogs to resemble shoes for the Nike78 exhibition.
