New Products / My Life Recording the Beatles: a book by Geoff Emerick
April 27, 2012 | New Products | by Francois Grumelin-Sohn |
Already six years old, this book is a must for any Beatles addict or music sound maker. Geoff Emerick opens the door onto the Beatles world through the most interesting angle possible: as an insider. He was responsible for the sound recording for several Beatles albums, including the Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, definitely my favourite. Learn everything about every track, and what it historically and technically represents. Read more
New Products / A book about the invention of the Kaleidoscope
April 25, 2012 | New Products | by Axel Brechensbauer |
When the Kaleidoscope first was invented by David Brewster, he was sure that his instrument would not only save the labor of designers but would do much better than designers: ‘It will create in a single hour, what a thousand artists could not invent in the course of a year’. Read more about this in the E.H.Gombrich book called, The Sense of Order. The only book you need to read about art. Read more

New Products / New range of Arnette sunglasses are fully customisable
April 20, 2012 | New Products |
by
Zolton
|
I dig the style of the new Arnette range of sunglasses, the Creative Exchange System (or A.C.E.S.) collection, which comes with interchangeable parts so you can customize your sunglasses according to the occasion, or the weather, or the person on your arm, if you know what I mean (and I know you do). They say that it’s ‘like having multiple shades in one’, and having just taken possession of some, I tend to agree. Read more
New Products / Fragrance replicates the scent of an Apple Macbook Pro
April 18, 2012 | New Products | by Bridget Barnett |
Diehard Mac fans can take their love to the next level. The scent of an Apple product being opened for the first time has been recreated by a group of Australian-based artists and a fragrance company called Air Aroma. Specifically, the scent recreates the smell of the plastic wrap covering the box, printed ink on the cardboard, the smell of paper, plastic components inside the box, and the smell of the aluminium laptop. Although it’s not available to purchase (yet), you can get a whiff of the fragrance while it is on display in Melbourne between April 20 and May 12. At least it’s a cheaper high than buying a new laptop.

They’re all fitted with a bottle opener on the underside, too, and I can tell you, I’ve been popping more bottles than air with this badboy.
