Eye Gate II is a Philadelphia-based collective of friends who specialize in layered psychadelic projections. Part live performance, part video installation, Eye Gate II utlilizes found footage from old film reels and a variety of retro oil tray techniques to create an amazing viewing experience. Recently collaborating with a variety of musical acts in a few key venues around the Philadelphia area, Eye Gate II has been melting faces and blowing minds.

If you’re a driver or passenger, it’s getting that way that probably one in ten cars you pass have a ‘my family tribe’ (or whatever they’re called) sticker plastered on the driver’s rear windscreen. Seeing them daily now, I’m beginning to wonder why is it that these are becoming so popular and a social phenomena. A lot of opinions are out there on whether they’re liked or disliked, but opinion’s are one thing. I prefer to show some action. Hence, I decided to design my own range of Dysfunctional Families stickers.

Motivated by the experience of sitting in traffic and viewing the same old ‘family sticker range’, which was not really offering much in the way of imagination, this is the antithesis of this paradigm, with a bit of fun thrown in. The stickers tell a story about our culture and our families. They’re tongue in cheek, light-hearted and not to be taken too seriously. I’m trying to add more each week and am having a heap of fun designing them.

Working out of his Sacramento studio, DECABET, artist Jason Malmberg creates killer poster designs. I love the lines, color and typography. Now I just need a band to have him do the poster artwork for.

Anna Utopia Giordano has created these Popbottles for an art exhibtion as a way to raise ‘social awareness on topics such as alcohol abuse by teens, alcohol abuse by pregnant women, the disinterest of some parents towards their children (abandoned for days between toys and video games), [and] how far marketers can go to gain the attention of their younger customers’. Oh, ok. We just think they look kinda cool.

I’ve been admiring Brian Kelly’s simple and effective approach to product design for a long time now, simply because he takes everyday items and makes them smarter. To me this is what good design is, aesthetically pleasing while at the same time completely functional, with no excess. Form and function go hand-in-hand and get married in Kelly’s brain.

What, the piano’s been drinking? Now, thanks to French-Argentinian designer Pablo Reinoso, we know the furniture’s been drinking too.

Insekta is a collection designed by italian studio Kreativehouse. The moodboard is inspired by the shapes of insects and their world of color. The drawings, taken from original illustrations by Cristian Grossi, were applied to different supports to create a collection of unique products: a limited edition set of illustrated notebooks in recovered paper, a set of pins and tees.

This sweet moustache’d man has room for a note and then folds up into an envelope. Everyone loves getting mail. Send something to your crush. You will get make outs. I promise.

If you are curious about the best underground and pop music going on in Korea, DigiPedi (short for Digital Pedicure) seem to be at the forefront. Staying away from plug-ins, they use their own ideas and concepts with the technology to create great music videos, illustrations and animation projects.

This is my design concept for the upcoming Macbook Pro. I reduced the volume and weight of the computer by 43 percent, but still kept the same screen size. It’s a fairly simple and minimal Notebook, a plausible update on the current models.
