My collage and mixed media works deal with themes of identity, isolation, and serendipitous discovery. They are very much an outlet for both my frustrations of society, and personal searches for meaning and truth.
I forgot how innovative Brooklyn band TV on the Radio is. Their latest LP, Nine Types of Light, while a little more subdued, is just as chaotic and brilliantly cryptic as 2004’s Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes, 2006’s Return to Cookie Mountain and 2008’s Dear Science.
The photography of Marie Ek reminds me of flipping through an old personal photo album. She captures fleeting moments of life in such a poignant way that inspire reminiscent thoughts of distant memories and nearly forgotten dreams.
