Artist Adam S Doyle creates beautifully graphic images imbued with simple, rich texture, showing a kind of restraint that many illustrators can learn from. Being neither simplistic nor flashy, his bird paintings are a prime example of less being more, provided you know what you’re doing.

For a good dose of Afrikaans rap and Afropop, check out this tune by Jack Parow and Gazelle. Parow, heir apparent to Die Antwoord’s Zef crown, but with less vitriol and more comedy, has been on the Afrikaans rap scene for years, while Gazelle (Xander Ferriera) has been kicking holes in the contemporary art scene with his Avant Car Guard conceptual art operations. Interesting dudes and great stuff, with or without subtitles.
