Consisting of resin, timber and found objects, Abdul-Rahman recreates toys and other nostalgic figures from childhood. My favorite piece of his is the surprisingly large one of a triceratops, which has been ultra realistically crafted.

When I heard Pogo’s work on YouTube, I smiled. It brought me into a nostalgia of warm memories, and for that, I’ve been a closer follower ever since. His profound skill to extract audio and recombine it, capturing the overall sense of the film, is genius.

They say a picture tells a thousand words. Well, for Ingetje Tadros, hers say a lot more. As a freelance photographer, Tadros travels the globe capturing some of the world’s most outstanding portraits. The beauty is found in the empowering visuals, which suddenly allow you to feel connected with the subjects. How she does it, I just don’t know.

Coming back from the Big Apple is the unlikely team of Australian Indigenous runners which has been selected to be a part of an Australian first marathon project. Famous marathon runner Robert De Castella is behind it all and his dream is to find an Indigenous Olympian. The movie about it, Running to America, is being aired in December 2011. Keep the running shoes handy because you’re going to be inspired.
Born in St Petersbourg, and raised in Beirut by his Russian-Estonian mother and Lebanese father, autodidactic photographer Sherif Elhage now lives in Paris. Phew! He employs no corrective methods to his photography, so the composition of the colour and the original framing are integral elements of Sherif’s work. Read more
