Paola was part of the same residency in Brazil myself. We had a lot of fun drawing together at one table. Her work and sketchbooks are wonderful and her output is incredible. She made a comic book called Virus Tropical, about her first 18 years of life, which I am looking forward to reading soon.

My friend Philip Marshall runs this wonderful, tape-only label called The Tapeworm. It features exclusive contributions and rare recordings of artists like Stephen O’ Malley, Fennesz, Derek Jarman, Dylan Carlson and Stephan Mathieu among others. I designed the cover for the upcoming tape of Chris Connelly, which will come out in August. Right now, I am working on a comic book that will be released on the Tapeworm´s sublabel The Bookworm.

This is the first clip from Madrid, the new project of Adriano Cintra of Fame and Marina Vello of Bonde de Role. I have been looking forward to it since one of their earlier collaborations on a cover version of Freak le Boom Boom by Gretchen kept ringing in my ears for a long time. The video was shot by Dacio Pinheiro in São Paulo last month and I like the dark atmosphere and aesthetics of classical black and white cinema.

This is the first official video clip for Berlin synth-goth-duo Crime, the new project of Mika Risiko (Sissters) and Sarah Adorable (Scream Club). It had its premiere at this years’ Pornfilmfestival in Berlin. They are going on tour with Dischord Records’ E.D. Sedgwick towards the end of November. Go check them out if they play in a city nearby.

I met Maria Luque recently in an artist residency in São João in Brazil and fell in love with her cute drawings of bearded men and crazy dogs she was working on. The world Luque creates in her drawings is sweet and and her selection of colours is very tasteful.

Citybirches photography works is a beautiful photographic portrait series about alternative rock bands on tour by Stephan Laackman. He is crowdfunding the production of the book right now, which features portraits of 150 bands like Sonic Youth, Mudhoney, R.E.M, Stephen Malkmus, Wooden Shjips, Future Islands, Explosions in the Sky or Lower Dens.The book will also feature a cd compilation with musical contributions by selected portrayed bands.
