Is the soul colored or is it black and white? I find this quite confusing, since I believe that a colored soul is necessary for producing colored things. But then again, I’m sure that true color often comes from the deepest broken, damaged and divided black of one’s soul. Digital Jacklight is a mission to try and find out.

I found this interesting looking bed and I immediately thought to myself: what a good hiding place this could be! I’m not sure why, but I find it comfortable and I can even imagine how a cheese slice must feel. However, this could also give you nightmares. Sleeping in a huge sandwich might reveal an even bigger predator waiting for you outside.

Time Of The Gypsies is one of those movies that will make you feel spikes on your heart. Poverty, pain, sorrow and tears play together with music, happiness, and magic in a fantastic story about life. The soundtrack of this amazing Serbian movie is a painkiller that will kill your killer pain.

The teddy bear jacket designed by Sebastian Errazuriz might be a good anti-aging solution, if you want to keep your inner child alive. Having lots of stuffed teddy bears all over you might sound scary, but it’s a nice way of saying no to real fur clothes. The fashion itself is described by the author as a wink at the 80s eco-friendly fur campaign.

I stumbled upon this cool street style blog that shows original and edgy people on the streets of Helsinki. Punk, Goth, Harajuku, Pin-up or retro, the people featured here have a unique sense of style. Many of the clothes are modified or created by the owners to fit their personalities and each photo has its own description written by the person in the picture.

I love the new video for Rusko’s song, Everyday. What’s pretty neat about it is the way in which the happiness of the sound mixes with the sadness conveyed by the video: a deserted world in which even the fish have died on the beach, but the people still live their lives and the sun keeps on shining.

If you’ve ever dreamed of having a wardrobe that looks like a little black dress, or a table that seems to be breaking apart, then Straight Line Designs will definitely make you question furniture gravity. A simple way to sum up Cassandra Smith’s artwork would be to describe it as ‘bedazzled taxidermy’. Further inspection of her work reveals careful precision, amazing attention to detail, and a whole new spin and respect for the decorative arts. Read more

What came first, the chicken or the eggshell? What? The eggshell? Ok. Well Brighton-based designer Kyle Bean agrees with you, as this awesome Chicken Eggshell artwork suggests.

Interior design website, Apartment Therapy, just posted some amazing pictures of ’70s rock stars in their parents’ homes. My favorite is of David Crosby and his dad [below]. The two look so completely opposite of each other that it’s hard to believe that it’s Crosby’s real dad. They also look like they’re barely concealing the contempt they have for each other. Crosby’s father was an Academy-Award-winning cinematographer who shot Tabu and High Noon, amongst other well-known films. Read more

Music isn’t necessarily a serious venture. It’s almost funny when you find some you know will grate to dust the stiff upper lipped critics of the world. Every now and then I like the type of sound that hops around the edge of your ears without working its way into your brain and messing up the seratonin levels. And Californian 16-piece tropical-ska-pop group, Still Flyin’, do just that for me. It’s a good laugh, quite catchy, and an awesome live experience so I’m told: especially with the sun out, a can of cider in your hand and a bunch of grinning faces skanking around you.

A classic and recent criminal shopping post of mine, Agent Provocateur has great stockings (insert photo here of me wearing them, which I want to take, wearing a men’s shirt reading the Wall Street Journal and wearing glasses). Read more

The newest giclee print from Rebel Unlit, Inquiry into Jellyfish, is an adventure in mixed media. We love the subtleties of this piece, which could be missed at first glance: the transparencies, the color distress, the foreground texture. We’re also a pretty big fan of that jellyfish. Inspired by Haruki Murakami’s The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, this limited-edition piece is printed on cotton matt archival 310gsm paper and is available now in the Lost At E Minor online store.
