Remember how the forgotten (and the forbidden) places attracted you as a child? Well, I think I never got past that phase. I haven’t had the courage to do any big scale explorations yet, but while I’m planning for it, Forbidden Places is a good place to see what other people are finding in hidden places around the globe. It’s very eerie and intriguing.
Our bass player bought a Hamboards longboard for the Summer and, man, it looks cool. It’s really old school and a very smooth ride. It makes Finland feel like California for a while. Hamboards is a family business with a loveable DIY-attitude.
Finnish artist Axel Antas’ photographs have a special dream-like atmosphere about them. I remember asking him if we could use some of his photos in our album art, but I think he never replied. Instead we used San Francisco-based photographer Dan Smith.
Our producer Julius Mauranen recommended Joe Meek’s I Hear a New World album to me a few months ago. I totally fell in love with the album and now I’ve started to go through his other musical productions. A completely new discovery for me, which I’m quite excited about.
