This 1974 sleeper hit makes any Hollywood love story look like a joke. It’s pretty intense, and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I don’t want to give a plot summary or anything like that, because I don’t want to give it away. And don’t check IMDB, because they said it was one of the biggest Bollywood flops ever. Untrue.

He’s the new paparazzi. He’s in Sweden right now and he just emailed me some new pictures. I’ve known Ryan Koopmans since we were young. He’s from Victoria, too. I don’t have a fetish about people from Victoria. I just think a lot of talented people have come from there, like Steve Nash, for example. Read more

This is a really strong shoe, and lasts a long, long time. My dad says that you should replace your shoes every eight months, but I haven’t replaced these in a year and a half. I like running at night. It’s the only time New York City feels empty. There’s only Chinese men fishing in the East River and a few couples making out.

On-the-go Rave. I bought this thing last fall from a dude in Brooklyn, and our new album relies on its bass. Many of the melodies are better understood once run through the Prophet. I’m pretty happy with it, but I’ve got my eyes on a Jupiter 6 now. There’s always something missing.

Dreamboat is from Victoria. I found out about him through my brother, who saw him playing in a park in Toronto. Once I looked him up, I was amazed by his song called Molly Ringwald [listen below]. He has awesome danceable qualities that are paired with vocals tested by all the complexities of being culturally aware, but living a small suburban town. Read more

Clients From Hell documents the torture suffered by talented creatives at the hands of ignorant clients. It helps put things in perspective – if you’re having an awful day, a quick browse confirms there are others in similar positions who’ve been through worse than you have. Or maybe not. There’s some gold in the archives; some of our favourites are: Read more
Originally hailing from Kendal, Cumbria and now based in Leeds, the Wild Beasts foursome are the next hopefuls for Domino Records, who sent the group out to Sweden to record their first album, Limbo, Panto, released on June the 16th. The new single — The Devil’s Crayon — shimmers in wide-screen around a sense of location, melody and wonder at the scale of things. Indeed, it sounds like the theme song to a new kind of very English road movie.
