Adam Hilborn has worked with everyone from Complex Magazine to Nike over the last few years. Browsing his newly updated site, we came across the best illustration ever to be seen of the rapper/singer Pharaohe Monche. He did it for an editorial for Pound Magazine. To be able to capture this much texture in a line drawing is incredibly hard. The way Pharaohe’s hair looks, even on his face, individual strands curve together to capture his goatee and eyebrows perfectly, while thicker short strokes create the trimmed looking moustache.

Ben Young, the man behind Greenwood Yard, has been busy. He is one of the most creative people we have ever had the privilege to share a pitcher of PBR with. He’s recently been releasing video content like wildfire through his site and this particular piece stuck pretty heavy. Read more

Toronto rapper D-Sisive is a don. This guy does not do ‘rap’ in the traditional sense, although he has been one of the best artists in the genre for the last three or so years. His new album, Run with the Creeps, is out now and his first visual for the project, GG Allin, does not disappoint. Limping along the railroad tracks, looking like he just had the living crap beat out of him, D brings GG Allin’s on stage insanity to rap for four and half minutes. This is awesome.

So we recently checked out a pop-up shop for Metsa Design’s new Winter Line. As a general rule, I’m a fan of the stuff they are producing, but these Concrete Pearl earrings caught my eye for a long while. Brainchild Marcus Uran has been a long time friend, but from his humble albeit inspired beginnings, it’s great to see the line develop into something this grandiose.

We’re fans of rap music first, like most artists are of their genre. If you were a hip hop head who grew up in the VHS era, you probably used to tape every episode of Rap City you managed to see. And we were no exception. This video came together from our personal VHS tapes (there were a lot). From the start, it seemed ambitious to pull off. But with the great minds that are JR of Motioneer, our own Bronze One, and a lot of help from friends, we managed to put this video together. This one goes out to all those kids who ran to the VCR as soon their favorite new song came on.

All the trash of modern pop culture heaped in one place, Flash Glam Trash shows stuff like stills from long forgotten cult films, memes like people emulating the David Bowie lightening flash, Micky Mouse ears, or the documentary pictures of a man who photographs prostitutes. Beach House are certainly different. The dream pop/indie rock duo from Baltimore create music bursting with atmospheric rhythms, pretty organs and poignant lyrics. I’m loving Norway, the twosome’s debut single from their upcoming album, Teen Dream. If the vocals sound familiar, that’s because lead singer Victoria Legrand shared backing vocals on Grizzly Bear’s Two Weeks. Now how’s that for trivia?

Put simply, Sydney fashion label Andrea and Joen create the hottest shoes around. You’ll find a combination of pure sophistication and rock and roll attitude in every pair from their range. Their sexy style has become a must for contemporary women, including Gwen Stefani, Katy Steele and Pink, all of whom have been seen proudly flaunting them around town.

Inspired by Caspar David Friedrich and American Space Travel, the Das Nebelmeer print by Rebel Unlit features a unique collage of mountains and space shuttle smoke.
