Dehara Yukinori (or Yukinori Dehara? I’ve seen it both ways) is coming out with a new series of work at Giant Robot 2 in July.

His work delights me: figures of weird stone monsters, weird cabbage head monsters, and weird monsters beating the shit out of each other. His new body of work is about panty flashing. Badass.

When I’m not making stuff, I am playing drums. I’m looking to move out soon, and I’m going to need an electronic drumset to support my habit. Good Lord, I want this Swedish electronic drumset. It’s so cool looking, and it has everything a drum nerd like me could want: multi-zone cymbals, support for ‘real’ drum heads, retro orange styling. Also, it sounds fantastic.

Gargamel is like the foreign exchange student you are in love with. I don’t understand anything that the Gargamel website is saying, but its photos are beautiful. I have not seen a finer manufacturer of vinyl toys. I hope one day to own them all.

I’ve been asked to be in a show happening this Saturday in Santa Monica. It’s a benefit for a group that buys Mosquito nets for people living in Africa. The show has an insane roster of talent, and should be a lot of fun. I made an edition of five sculpture-toys called PIFF (Portable Individual Force Field) Generators for the show. Each PIFF sold buys ten mosquito nets!

Have you ever wanted to eat someone’s soul so that you could take their powers? That’s how I feel about Dave Rapoza. The dude can paint, and his Ninja Turtle series is blowing up all over the internet because it is most excellent. Hopefully some executives will see these and launch a super gritty reboot of the TMNT franchise.
