Afrosol is an amazing creation that was born in the heart of the deep south and headed by a curly haired beauty, Claire Homewood. They handcraft African sun parasols using wire bamboo and other material, but each one is completely unique and is made by the talented local community. They are a perfect festival accessory: vibrant and quirky.

Eran Amir is from Jerusalem, Israel. I met him once in Berlin and had the pleasure of indulging in some of his fine ideas. The whimsical, detailed, and layered designs on these antique spoons handcrafted by Moniek and Marlette really caught my eye when I saw them at the Design Indaba held in Cape Town earlier this year. Each pendant tells a story and are so thoughtfully cut.
This studio is insane, their skulls are amazing, and the candles are a centerpiece to behold. Sobiet Studio is in the deepest south of Cape Town. Candles litter every mantlepiece and shelf, while Cuban props from all eras sit in each corner of the room. You can sit and have a coffee in a lounging area comprised of over 10 antique dental chairs. This studio is a creative space of the highest sophistication.
