Blu’s films are like M.C. Escher on acid. Fascinating as they are creepy to watch, you’ll find his shorts harder to turn away from than a 20 car pile-up. Just to be clear, when I say shorts, I’m talking about his films. Ok? Watch on and be awed.

It’s no laughing matter how our Democracy is mutating into a Corpocracy. The government’s servitude to the limitless greed of the corporate elite is increasing the disparity in wealth and opportunity. In this video, I use my paintings to illuminate the problem and motivate people to fight back in the class warfare waged against the common man.

He was the wanderer, he warned everyone to keep away from Runaround Sue (today Rush Limbaugh would call her a slut), and he was just a teenager in love. Fifty-four years since his first hit record, Dion DiMucci’s chops are better than ever. Check out his song, I Read It In The Rolling Stone, from his new album, Tank Full Of Blues.

As an artist, I feel we are always trying to evolve work that will inspire others as well as oneself. Having Grown up with my grade school years in africa, I’ve been toying with the idea of reprising and giving homage to cubism, futurism, and neo-expressionism by using oblong shapes to build and create the portrait’s silhouette. You know what they say, ‘You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him ‘drink. What they should have said was: ‘You can teach a cat to use the toilet, but you can’t make him flush’. That is until now. This marvelous invention will automatically flush after the cat poops. Now, if they can only invent something to make your husband put the seat back down. Read more

You probably know Hugh Laurie as the grumpy doctor in the TV show House. Well, the guy is full of surprises. The British (surprise number one) actor is also a world-class jazz pianist. He plays a smokin’ version of the old blues classic St. James Infirmary on his recently released debut album, Let Them Talk.

As a fan of art and classic pop culture, I’d like to bring Sebastian Krueger to as many people’s attention as I can. He treats the faces of aging rock stars like they are rugged landscapes. Both fluid and precise, his paintings have the natural beauty and depth of the Grand Canyon. Read more

Every incarnation of Batman since the 60s TV show has been an improvement. The last film, Dark Knight, was the best ‘official production’ to date. That said, it’s time to throw away the rubber suit and let the poor man move. Others have tried before and since, but this is how Batman should be made.

An animator of unmatched creativity, Blu’s films are like M.C. Escher on acid. Fascinating as they are creepy to watch, you’ll find his shorts harder to turn away from than a 20 car pile-up. Just to be clear, when I say shorts, I’m talking about his films.

I seem to come down with a bad case of Tourettes every time I gas up my car. The alternative is a motorcycle, which is a little uncomfortable in inclement weather. This one person car seems like the perfect solution for solo trips year-round. It’s probably a real chick magnet, but where would you put them?

Already six years old, this book is a must for any Beatles addict or music sound maker. Geoff Emerick opens the door onto the Beatles world through the most interesting angle possible: as an insider. He was responsible for the sound recording for several Beatles albums, including the Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, definitely my favourite. Learn everything about every track, and what it historically and technically represents. Read more

Baltimore’s Teeth Mountain create pulsing, shamanistic, tribal-sounding tracks from a bunch of floor toms, cello, mandolins, keyboards, saws, and whatever else they can get their hands on. The chaotic music they make is noisy, roughly-hewn, and impulsive-sounding, but that seems to be the point. They’re trying to evoke a sort of post-apocalyptic primitivism. It will be interesting to see where this collective takes their aesthetic.
