There is some great edit work on this clip for Numark’s Dumpin’ Em All, sampling some classic blaxploitation films with some sweet rotoscoping work to superimpose vocalist Bumpy Knuckles’ cake-hole onto the clip.

The thing with audio visual DJing is trying to find the image that looks like the sound. Hip hop tends to look like hydraulic cars; disco equals flares, cumbia equals cocktails on the beach, and dubstep, surprisingly, looks like levitating pallets of tomatoes exploding. I’m loving this Santa Cruz Primo Shark ride. It’s part of Santa Cruz’s beer-inspired range, modeling their decks on a number of beers from around the world: in this case, Hawaaii’s Primo. They’re all fitted with a bottle opener on the underside, too, and I can tell you, I’ve been popping more bottles than air with this badboy.
